January 7, 2013Winter means lots of things: logs in the fire, holidays, gifts. It also means wear and tear on the business (or home). Here are some tips to prepare your business for winter.
Clean Your Air Ducts
It’s a great idea to get your air ducts cleaned in preparation for the winter, as pollen, dust, and other particles accumulate throughout the spring, summer, and fall, then wane as winter approaches. Western Commercial is a great company to handle your air duct cleaning in Las Vegas.
Bring Outdoor Items Inside
This one’s obvious, but if you forget it, you’ll regret it! Bring in any furniture, signage, hoses, etc., and be sure to do it early. You never know when that first freeze will hit.
Clean Your Gutters
This one’s unpleasant but essential. Clean gutters allow winter snow to melt and drain. Clogged drains can lead to dams, which can cause water to back up into the building and cause an insurance nightmare.
Check Your Furnace
Don’t assume your furnace is working! This applies to both homes and businesses. It’s recommended you have the furnace checked and tuned annually, which shouldn’t run much more than $100. Have this done in the fall in preparation for the winter months!
While it may not be exciting, preparing your home now can save you time, money, and a whole lot of headaches later.
